Housing & Conference Center Facilities

   Housing is available only to individuals and groups conducting research or education activities during their stay.  The Kimbel Lodge (conference center) is available to non-profit organizations when the building is not being used by University research and education groups.

   

COTTAGES:  Each cottage has two bedrooms (each with 2 or 4 beds), two bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, and living/dining room.  Capacity of each cottage is 6 persons.

DORMS:  Dorms A and B have four bedrooms (each with four beds), two bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, and living/dining area.  Dorm C has ten bedrooms (each with two beds), four bathrooms, fully-equipped kitchen, and living/dining room.  Capacity for Dorm C is 20 persons and capacity for both Dorm A and B is 16 persons.

KIMBEL LODGE:  The conference center accommodates meetings for up to 100 person.  It has a fully- equipped kitchen, ice maker, chairs, tables, bathrooms, and heated/cooled main room.  Audio-visual equipment is available upon request.  Same rate applies whether use is for 1 hour or 24 hours.

IMPORTANT POLICIES - PLEASE READ
Effective September 2006

  • Rates are for one bed only.  If an individual wants exclusive occupancy of a room or unit, payment for all other beds is required.

  • Since University groups have priority, other reservations cannot be confirmed until 2 weeks before the requested date.

  • A 10 day cancellation notice is necessary to avoid being billed for 50% of the cost of the reservation.

  • Children under the age of 10 will not be charged if they stay with their parents.

  • No linens or towels are provided; pillows and blankets are available.

  • No food service is available on site; restaurants and grocery stores are less than a five mile drive.

  • Before departure, users must sweep floors, clean kitchen, place trash in cans on porch, and separate recyclables into labeled trash cans located in island between the dorms.

  • Billing information must be provided with your check-out sheet.

BOATS:  Available only to certified operators with advanced reservations.  Same rates apply whether use is for 1 hour or 24 hours.  Rates include one tank of gas/oil.  Additional gas/oil is available at the rate of $3.50/gallon.  Requests for boats to be trailered off site require a minimum of five days notice and a preparation charge of $30/boat.  Costs of repairs due to negligence will be charged.
